I have been on the hunt for the perfect red lipstick and I finally found my match. MAC’s Ruby Woo shade is thee red. Whenever I talked to any of my beauty gals Ruby Woo was always one of the first suggestions given to me. I don’t know why it took me so long to finally head to my local MAC and try it out, but I finally did and I loved it!

Ever since I found my new red love, I have been wearing it like crazy. I plan looks around it and have sometimes told myself ok, you have got to stop wearing just this one color–but I can’t help it! I used to shy away from wearing reds because I felt like it would be too much or too over the top but Ruby Woo is just right.

Back in the day my twin aka my Mom rocked red lipstick all the time and always looked so beautiful. I should have known it was my destiny to be able to do the same.

Hey guys. If you follow me on Twitter and/or Instagram (chuckstr) you may know I’m always posting my sock game. When it comes to standing out, socks are an easy way to go about doing so. It’s also a great way to add some color to your wardrobe during the spring/summer seasons. The days of boring white socks are long gone.

Your socks do not always have to match with your outfit. I usually just close my eyes and grab a pair and that’s the one I wear for the day. They can be worn with pretty much anything from dressed up in dress pants to casual and laid back in jeans. It’s just that added touch that can take your look from regular to unexpected. It also doesn’t hurt that the ladies love them!

Here are a few places I recommend where you can pick up some socks of your own. It’s time to step your sock game up!

As a little girl my Mom was always sure to get my sister and I new undergarments on a pretty regular basis. She was all about the new. New school year = new clothes. Going on a trip = new pajamas. If you’re anything like me you need to do some serious spring cleaning. Every spring I tell myself I’m going to tackle my closet and get rid of clothes, shoes and accessories I no longer want. But does it happen? Of course not!

Luckily in comes Dash Me Clothing Swaps! Dash Me is a Chicago company that hosts clothing swaps locally. The next one is this Saturday, April 28th from 3:30-5:00pm at University of Chicago’s Tribune Lounge. I will most certainly be in attendance and I want to invite you to come as well! On April 14th I hosted Bakers State Street Grand [Re]Opening along with Laundry Magazine Editor, Kelsey. Boy did I have so much fun! With the help of Lindsay of Bakers and Shoeternity.com we basically took over the State Street store and had an awesome party.

Our special fashion blogger guests came in to hang out, mingle, grab awesome gift bags and of course gush over shoes! Fun was had by all though, when we put shoes in various obvious hidden places on State Street for customers to find. Lucky customers were treated to prizes like accessories and Bakers gift cards for finding the shoes and turning them in.

Our fab bloggers participated in a store and product review for Bakers and Kelsey and I had the tough task of picking who wrote the best overall review. It was really hard so we had 2 runner up winners and our grand prize winner Hallie of Corals and Cognacs who scored a Bakers spring shopping spree!

This is probably my fave pic of the day. Everyone looks so lovely!

It was definitely a fun day and I had such a great time hosting with Kelsey. Thank you so much to Lindsay and the entire Bakers team!

Happy new week peaches! Hope yours is off to a swell start. I’m starting mine by telling you all about Drapes designer Ashley Scott’s trunk show. It was held at vintage boutique Dovetail which is now my new favorite place to shop.

Ashley’s new Valiant Life pieces are just the beginning of lots of new goodies she’s working on. I love this girl and her work so I cannot wait to see what else she’s up to. The new handmade accessories are truly unique and definite conversation sparkers. They evoke a feminine appeal with a dose of edginess which is the perfect combination in my opinion. Ashley not only designs earrings but also necklaces as well. The yellow fringe statement necklace has my name written all over it.

After perusing Ashley’s new line I explored Dovetail itself more and I loved everything about it. Dovetail is a well-edited store offering vintage clothing, shoes, accessories (a ton!) for both men and women and a few pieces for the home. I wanted just about every accessory they had in the store. I finally got around to checking out the women’s clothing and I grabbed a button-down top that I needed to perfect my look for Saturday’s hosting duties! (Pics and a full recap to come)
