Today officially marks the first day of Spring and naturally all things warm and sunny days are on my mind. I am so not a fan of the frigid cold we’re still experiencing here in Chicago. Alas, I can still longingly dream about the warmer days to come.

I cannot wait to get my sweet feet into these fabulous heels that are just sitting in my closet begging to be worn. Luckily I was able to grab the Prabal Gurung x Target beauties before they all sold out. If you’re swooning like I did when I saw them, you might be able to still find some at your local Tar-jay.

The other 2 pairs I can’t wait to strut in are from awesome company JustFab. JustFab is a shoe club where you get a new pair of shoes every month for just $39.95 each. They also offer denim, handbags and accessories as well and I am certainly a fan. The Cannes and Ankara are 2 of my fave picks for spring and I am not ashamed to say that I’ve been styling looks for them in my head already!

New “What I’m Rockin” post for you folks! This one is clearly all about the oxblood and military green, which I think pair very well together. I’ve been all about the military green coats and jackets that have been very trendy this winter season. I just can’t get enough of them. I clearly feel the same for the oxblood (or burgundy) color as well, as evidenced by my look here. Together they just make for a fab color combo!

This Thursday, March 21st, CheekyChicago.com presents their 4th Annual “Real People of Style” Fashion Show – set to once again shake the walls of 900 North Michigan Shops!

Join Chicago’s finest as Cheeky Chicago and Peroni Italy present you 10 local style stand-outs – decked out in looks from 900 North – curated by emerging styling team, adoptedSTYLE and The View From 5 ft. 2.

For $25 per person, you can mix, mingle and watch the fashion forward show – while enjoying delectable bites courtesy of Siena Tavern, a SmartWater VIP Lounge, music by DJ AT and to top it all off a VIP after party at Drumbar.

If I told you this was my favorite sweatshirt ever, would you believe me? How could it not be, right? My sentiments exactly! This lovely sweatshirt is a handmade by Racquel of QuellyRue Designs. I am a huge fan of Racquel’s work and I know you will be too if you’re not already.

As soon as I saw this sweatshirt I swooned. It is so unique and so adorable. I decided to pair it with my chambray top and my fave faux leather skirt as of late. You can probably tell by the look on my face in the pictures that it was quite cold outside. It was snowing and freezing!

It would be an understatement to say that I am obsessed with this sweater. I love the chunky look and feel of it as well as the neutral color. It’s very easy to wear with just about anything. This look is very simple and laid back but I did add some pops with my peach purse as well as my sparkly heels. I also doubled up on the chunk and added my gold link chain necklace which gives it sort of an 80s vibe.

What I also love about the sweater is the cute bow tie and keyhole on the back. Little details like that definitely move me to make a purchase like I did with this one. Sometimes it’s the little things that count most.

I stumbled upon this awesome sweatshirt yesterday and immediately knew I had to have it. It perfectly describes my sentiments on the historic YSL (Yves Saint Laurent) fashion house that has now been changed to just Saint Laurent. Not only has the name changed, but the brand has as well and frankly myself, along with my fellow fashion peeps, just have not been feeling it as of late.

This sweatshirt hits the nail on the [fashion] head and has been deemed my ‘Want of the Day.’ You can scoop it up from new NYC apparel brand What About Yves, here and they also have a t-shirt available here.

Ladies, I don’t know about you but for me winter weather means dry, dry everything. Both my hair and skin become dry and flaky and who do I have to thank for said dryness? Oh yes, the lovely place I call home, Chicago.

When it comes to dressing for the winter my best advice is to get hip to layering. Layering to combat the cold temps–without adding bulk–can be quite the challenge but it’s doable. What you want to do is go thinnest to thickest and work your way out. We of course don’t want you walking around looking like a little Michelin man!

I show you how I layered in the pictures above. My first (thinnest) layer is the chambray top. The second layer is my leather jacket and lastly for my third (and thickest) layer, is my faux fur vest. Voila! It’s just as simple as that.
