Hi there SP readers! It seems like it’s been a bit since I’ve done a What I’m Rockin’. I did a little update on what’s been happening with me last week, so if you haven’t yet check it out and catch up!
I sort of have a backlog of WIRs so be prepared to see a lot more. Good ole Chuck and I shot this one a little while back and it’s featuring me in a t-shirt which is something I rarely wear. But this one is a special one because it features an image by badass New York photographer Mike Schreiber. He’s taken some of the most iconic pictures of hip-hop artists and more and his work has been featured in Esquire Magazine, Vibe and XXL just to name a few. You can also check out more of his work in his first book “True Hip-Hop” which I highly suggest you pick up.
This shirt features Schreiber’s shot of Mos Def (now Yasiin Bey) that is literally one of my favorite pictures ever. I’ve always loved this shot of Mos and am happy to now have it emblazoned on a shirt.
I kept this look pretty neutral and paired the shirt with white jeans and my black Aldo heels. White jeans are a definite must especially in the summer. They’re cool, they look good and they go with anything. You’ll look hot without actually feeling hot–that’s always a nice combo.
Since Schreiber almost always shoots in black and white, Chuck thought it would be cool to do a few shots in black and white as well which I loved.
Have you rocked white jeans this summer? What do you think of the look? Holla at me in the comments!
