The Sassy Peach Style Guide Vol. 2: Winterize Your Wardrobe

  • I’m sure I’m not the only one enjoying this “winter” we’re having in Chicago. It’s been mild and mostly in the 40s and above for us and I don’t see any of us complaining. Last year we were under a ton of snow during our Snowpocalypse and oh how that was no fun.

But enough about that! I’m here to teach you how you can “winterize” your wardrobe during the cool/cold weather. I’ve talked about it in previous posts here and here as well. And now enter Vol. 2 of a pretty new feature: The Sassy Peach Style Guide.

    How To Winterize Your Wardrobe

Winterizing your wardrobe is a great way to stretch your spring/summer clothes into the winter. You don’t have to pack away your favorite sun dress or skirt just because it’s chillier out! Some of the tools I suggest for successful “winterization” are:

    -A blazer
    -A faux fur vest
    -Opaque tights (any color)
    -A leather jacket
    -Boots or booties

Those are the main things you will need to take your look from summer to winter. As you can see in the style guide above the common denominator of all 3 looks is opaque tights. They are a lifesaver for winterizing because they look great but they also aid in keeping you warm of course!

Don’t be afraid to mix and match pieces or wear something in a way you never have before. The 2nd look in the style guide is actually a maxi dress that I put a long-sleeved top over. I tried a similar look on myself and I loved it. I wasn’t sure about the whole shirt-over-the-maxi-dress look but it worked splendidly!

Blazers and leather jackets are also lifesavers. Throw them on over a dress or with a top or skirt like in looks 1 and 3 and you’re all set! Winterizing your wardrobe is a simple way to get the most out of your closet and wear some of your favorite things all year ’round!

Have you tried winterizing your wardrobe? Do you have any questions for me? Let me know in the comments!
