My ChicagoStreetStyle.com Feature + What I Rocked
I am so very honored and excited to be featured on ChicagoStreetStyle.com! Amy Creyer (founder and photographer behind Chicago Street Style) did a Blogger Spotlight on yours truly! You can see the full post and more pictures there but I also wanted to share what I rocked with my lovely readers!
H&M hat | Forever 21 hoops & bangles | Erica Anenberg ring | Matthew Williamson for H&M dress | Zara blazer |Akira skirt | DKNY tights | Betsey Johnson (Marshalls score!) pumps | Chanel bag | All Of My Purple Life MAC lipglass
Believe it or not, it was a struggle putting this look together. I wanted to of course wear something I hadn’t been photographed in yet and something fun, cool and stylish because it was going on ChicagoStreetStyle.com for goodness sakes! I looked in my closet and saw that I had absolutely nothing to wear. To add insult to injury, I was also having a bad hair day–yikes!
Thankfully my creative juices started flowing and I began pulling things out of my closet and laying them on the bed. What could work, what wouldn’t work, can I do something new with what I have? Soon after I had this look and could breathe a sigh of relief.
Stylists look at things totally different than most people and we usually do things people would have never thought to do with clothes. I did just that when I wore my Matthew Williamson for H&M dress as a top and put my skirt over it. By doing that I was able to achieve the look I was going for without anyone ever knowing (until now)! You can do the same thing with your clothes as well. The next time you’re in a style rut, try putting a twist on something in your closet and wear it in a new way!
