Men’s Fashion: All Patched Up
-
Hey guys, it’s Chuck here. It’s been a while since I posted anything, but today I come to you with something great.
One of the most important items that should be in any guy’s closet is a nice blazer. Blazers are staple pieces that can be worn with almost anything from jeans to khakis.
I scored this blazer from a thrift store for about $4.00 and wanted to do a little something special to it. The next thing I know I run across Imani Amos and her Tumblr (http://famousiamos.tumblr.com). Imani is a Chicago native who has always had a knack for adding African elements into her designs. Her design aesthetic is bold and colorful and she certainly implemented those elements by adding these awesome elbow patches on the blazer for me.
I definitely wanted something special so she found some African fabrics for me and in the end I chose this one because it stood out against the blazer. I wore the blazer for the first time this past Sunday and got a lot of compliments on it.
If you’re looking to add some dope, new elements to your blazers, I definitely suggest adding elbow patches just as Imani did to mine with a fabric of your choice.
Be sure to check out Imani’s Tumblr and make sure to follow her on Twitter (@TheFamousIAmos). If you’d like her to do some designs for you be sure to contact her. Ladies that goes for you too!
So what do you guys think of my blazer? Will you be adding some new elements to yours? Tell me in the comments!

My mom used to wear quite a few blazers with elbow patches when I was little. I used to hate them because I didn’t like the look, but I absolutely love them now. I like how you mixed the patterns on you blazer.
