Afrobella’s Marshalls/TJ Maxx Holiday Shopping Party Recap!
-
I consider myself a Marshalls and TJ Maxx ambassador and I am proud of it. The thought of finding something fabulous at up to 60% off just thrills me! As a young girl I dreaded those long Saturdays in the car with my Mom as she went from store to store doing her shopping, but as soon as she said those magic words “Marshalls” or “TJ Maxx” I would suddenly perk up and instantly become interested in the shopping trip!
Shopping Marshalls or TJ Maxx really is a better way to shop, especially when you are doing your holiday shopping. Marshalls and TJ Maxx are not discount stores, they are off-price retailers where you can save money without sacrificing quality. Their stores receive up to 10,000 new items each week where you can score 20-60% savings on designer brands that are on-trend, and in-season every single day.
Last week I had the privilege of participating in my dear friend Afrobella‘s very first Marshalls/TJ Maxx Holiday Shopping Party! Our other two best blogging gals Renisha and Luvvie joined in on the fun as well. We all came together to share our expertise on what we know best and to tell guests they can find it all at Marshalls and TJ Maxx!
*Patrice of Afrobella.com (@afrobella) shared her knowledge on great gifts in beauty and plus size fashion.
*Personal trainer and fitness guru, Renisha James of RenewedFitness.org (@RenewedFitness) spoke on activewear and fitness items for that effervescent workout buddy of yours.
*Luvvie Ajayi of bomb.com shoe blog, MustLuvvShoes.com (@MustLuvvShoes) spoke about none other than shoes,
*and I discussed the best in holiday designer fashion finds and trends!
My beautiful rack (sorry for the poor cell phone pic quality)
The day before the event we all put racks of the best finds in Marshalls together to share with guests the hottest items in-store to buy now and to show the great designer brands Marshalls has to offer.
*Patrice shared plus size fashion and beauty finds from the likes of Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren, two of my favorite fragrances, Marc Jacobs’ Daisy and Lola, as well as super popular eyeshadow palettes by The Balm that were $12.99. The actual retail price is $40, so you can see the savings in that! Those went very fast!
*Renisha found some great fitness and activewear by Nike and Under Armour and she taught guests to look for items that help pull sweat off of your skin as you workout and the best way to keep warm during chilly winter temperatures.
*Luvvie’s shoe picks included a fierce pair of leopard wedges that garnered “oohs” and “aahs” from the crowd and heels with platforms for extra height and support.
*Lastly I shared the latest trends in designer fashion such as leopard, faux fur, capes and accessories, along with styling tips for holiday and New Years Eve party looks! Two of my favorite finds were a gorgeous white Mackage (yes, that Mackage!) coat and a beautiful, plum Michael Kors handbag. Swoon worthy!
Next up it was time for giveaways during our Off-Price is Right game. These ladies were our lucky winners!
But everyone was actually lucky because Marshalls so kindly provided everyone who RSVP’d to our holiday shindig a $25 gift card! So you can guess that a little shopping took place next!
We each went to our areas of expertise in the store and helped guests shop and find what they were looking for.
Overall the event was so much fun and was very successful. I look forward to doing more events like this in the future! Thank you to Marshalls and TJ Maxx for the awesome opportunity!
Delicious red velvet and chocolate mini cupcakes and chai tea were provided by Tia of Chi Bakery and Cafe. Although the physical retail location has closed, you can still click here to order goodies from her!
All photos (except for the pic of my shopping rack) were by none other than awesome photographer Chuck Olu-Alabi (@chuckstr) of Chuckstr Photography!
