Nike Chicago LunarGlide+ 3 live and in color

I had quite the busy Saturday due to all of the fun events happening in Chicago so I of course have to give you all the details. One of the events I attended was the launch of Nike‘s new, cool kicks, the Chicago LunarGlide+ 3 in partnership with the amaze Chicago Blogger Network.

DJ Markyboy on the 1s and 2s

Shoe store Akin (2350 N. Clark St.) hosted the launch for Nike where we were treated to food and drinks, awesome music by DJ Markyboy and seeing the Chicago LunarGlide+ 3 in person. Local artist Tara D, who designed the Chicago edition of the LunarGlide+ 3, was in attendance as well. When asked what inspired her design of the limited edition shoe (and complimenting t-shirt), Tara stated that the old signage around Chicago intrigued her, so she went with a vintage look for both. She also did live art while there and opened up her mobile art gallery the Hot Box for everyone to see. So frickin’ cool!

We were also treated to a fall fashion show featuring Nike athletic wear and official Nike x Bank of America Chicago Marathon 2011 clothing. As a fashion girl, working out and still being fashionable is of the utmost importance to me and the Nike gear definitely delivered. Coupled with the Chicago LunarGlide+ 3‘s as well? No one would be able to say I look a hot mess in all that dope gear!

As an on-again off-again runner, I can’t wait to pop in my Nike+ chip and try out the Chicago LunarGlide+ 3*. I’ve been wanting to get back out there on the lake and begin running more frequently and this was just the kick I needed. Fall is the perfect season to do so in my opinion because it’s not sweltering hot and not bone-chilling cold, it’s just right.

This was truly a fun event and sorry for you if you missed out! If you want to see the limited edition shoe in person and/or want to buy it, head on over to Akin. See more pics from the event on The Sassy Peach Facebook page!
