What I’m Rockin’

Forever 21 top | Akira Chicago skirt | H&M clutch | Erica Anenberg ring | DRAPES by Ashley Scott earrings | AJ Wright heels | Nails: OPI ‘Flashbulb Fuchsia’I have been dying to try the Color Blocking trend that is all the rage right now. Color Blocking is when you pair bright, solid colors that complement each other or even clash, for the perfect spring/summer look.
Friday night I attended a reception for the Chicago premiere of Bill Cunningham NY, about the pioneer of street style photography Bill Cunningham. I highly recommend you check it out!
Trying this trend was a bit of a challenge for me because I realized I did not have a solid color top to go with my skirt, so I trekked it over to Forever 21 and found the perfect top! I love the color and love the flowing sleeves.
I also struggled with what shoes to wear. Since so much color was involved I knew going neutral with the shoes was the best way to go in my case so I chose the pair of heels I had that were closest to my skin tone. It helps elongate my legs and doesn’t compete with my bright pops of color.
What do you all think? Will you be trying the color block trend? Stay tuned to TSP for a how-to lesson from me!
