Get a Free Haircut at The Salon at ULTA in the Loop


  • So I got word that the Salon at ULTA on State St. will give you a free haircut &/or color service, which will usually run you about $75 & up for each. (Of course there’s a catch) The services are administered by “apprentices,” basically stylists who are currently in training. So not so bad right? Also their work is overseen by ULTA’s Creative Director David Barnett. The complimentary haircuts are offered on Thursdays 9a–11a, & the free color services are available on Fridays 9a–11a.

    Not too thrilled about a trainee styling your tresses? Then you might want to opt for the weekly Advanced Apprentice workshops, Tuesday through Friday 12p-4p. Services performed by Advanced Apprentices are 30%off.

    The Salon at ULTA welcomes walk-ins for the free & discounted cuts &/or color, but they suggest making an appointment at 312.279.5081.

    Thanks for the heads up. I hate having to ask “Do you know how to do black hair?” lol… maybe if they know how to NOT jack me up I can take advantage of this…
